17. augustil peeti Leedus kolme Balti riigi rahvusraamatukogude konverentsi „LiLaEst 2020“. Selle aasta ürituse peateemaks oli „Digitaalse sisu taaskasutamise võimalused.” Leedu, Läti ja Eesti spetsialistidel oli võimalus arutada selle teemaga seotud olukorda kõigis Balti riikide rahvusraamatukogudes ning jagada oma kogemusi ja tulevikuvisioone.
See kolmepäevane konverents toimub iga kahe aasta tagant kordamööda ühes kolmest Balti riigist.
Selle iga kahe aasta tagant toimuva kohtumise peaeesmärgiks on, et kultuuri ei tohiks hoida suletuna andmekogudesse ja arhiividesse, vaid seda tuleb jagada. Seetõttu hoolitsevad kultuuriasutused, nende hulgas ka raamatukogud, muuhulgas selle eest, et kultuuriobjekte rahvale esitleda. Arenenud digivahendid ja internet on avanud väga palju võimalusi kultuuripärandi jagamiseks. Tööde taaskasutamine on saanud eriti populaarseks tänapäeval, kui on võimalus luua uusi tähendusi sellega, kui töö uude konteksti paigutada või sellele ootamatuid elemente lisada. Leedu, Läti ja Eesti rahvusraamatukogude esindajad ja eksperdid pidasid ettekandeid ja jagasid oma kogemusi, plaane ja probleeme, mis olid seotud raamatukogudes säilitatava materjali avaldamisega ja taaskasutamisega.
Osavõtjaid tervitas Leedu Rahvusraamatukogu peadirektor, professor Renaldas Gudauskas. Ta tegi ka ettekande raamatukogu saavutustest aastatel 2018–2019 ning rääkis väljakutsetest ja uutest võimalustest tänapäeva COVID-19 maailmas.
Eesti Rahvusraamatukogu peadirektor Janne Andresoo saatis oma parimad soovid videotervitusena. Dagnija Baltiņa, kes esindas üritusel Läti Rahvusraamatukogu, tervitas ja jagas oma Leedu ja Eesti kolleegidega kõige viimaseid uudiseid.
Juozas Markauskas Balti Audiovisuaalsete Arhiivide Nõukogust rääkis digitaalsete ressursside haldamisest. Anda Baklāne Lätist pidas ettekande digihumanitaariast Läti raamatukogudes ning esitles projekti “Beyond the Search: Improving Digital Skills in Libraries and Scientific Communities” tulemusi.
Leedu Rahvusraamatukogu dokumendipärandi uurimisosakonna juhataja Jolanta Budriūnienė arutles digitaalse kultuuripärandiga ümberkäimise probleeme Balti piirkonna koostöövõrgustiku rajamise näitel. Ta rääkis ka Balti riikides toimunud digitaliseerimisprotsessi saavutustest ning sellest, kuidas tugevdada ja laiendada koostööd erinevate kultuuripärandiga tegelevate asutuste vahel.
Oma video-ettekandes, mille pealkiri oli “Mida rohkem me anname, seda rohkem me saame,” esitles Henning Scholz, kes esindas Europeana’t, Europeana strateegiat, kvaliteedinõudeid kujutiste ja meta-andmete jaoks (Avaldamise võrgustik). Mahendra Mahey Briti Raamatukogust rääkis Raamatukogu laboratooriumidest (Library Labs) Briti Raamatukogus. Konverents pakkus osalejatele ka mitmesuguseid loomingulisi töötubasid, loengusessioone ja diskussioone.
Kahe aasta pärast toimub LiLaEst Eestis.
LiLaEst konverents, mida korraldatakse alates 1968. aastast, üritab säilitada pikaajalisi traditsioone, millest üks on kõigi kolme Balti riigilipu heiskamine.
