“Fernflower” – A Relaxing Evening of Music and Poetry

June 15, 2019

In June, VEMU had special guests from Estonia, actors Lembit and Mare Peterson, and musicians Marge Loik (piano) and Villu Veski (saxophone) performing a music and poetry program to celebrate the Year of the Estonian Language. On June 6, the Tartu College hall was beautifully lit with candles for the intimate cultural experience. The evening was filled with Estonian poetry and original northern and Estonian musical interludes and improvisations. Enthusiasts also had a second opportunity to experience the program on June 8 in the forest setting of Seedrioru camp in Elora. To top off the week of performances, Lembit Peterson spoke about his theatre and music life at Tartu College on June 12 to a small group of theatre fans.
