On September 9, Dr. Liisi Esse, Curator for Estonian and Baltic Studies at Stanford University, and Michael Keller, Librarian at Stanford University, visited the National Library of Lithuania.

The guests met with Aušrinė Žilinskienė, Director General of the National Library of Lithuania, Janina Marcinkevičienė, Deputy Director General for Administration and Services, Giedrė Čistovienė, Head of the Project Management Department, and Dr. Jolanta Budriūnienė, Director of the Documentary Heritage Research Department.

During the meeting, cooperation opportunities were discussed: internships at Stanford University, exchange of best practices, dissemination of exhibitions and collections, presentation of Lithuanian memory and cultural identity abroad.

The guests were introduced with the National Library’s activities and the ongoing project E-Culture Platform, a unified portal for digitized and digital culture and audiovisual content, e-services and dissemination in Lithuania.

During the tour of the library, Keller and Esse learned firsthand about the activities of the Judaica Research Center, viewed the exhibition YIVO Centennial: Origins, Path and Legacy, visited the American Reading Room, and were pleasantly surprised by the services provided by the Media Workshop and Creative Workshop.
