Thanks to the contacts VEMU Estonian Museum Canada made at the Estonian Book 500 conference in September, our colleagues from University of Toronto came to visit us in October. Now it looks like this could lead to some new collaborations in the future.

We are pleased to announce the call for papers for Travellers of the Sea – Conference on Maritime History, Marine Archaeology and Ethnology. The travelling conference will take place at the Maritime Centre Forum Marinum, Turku, House of Sciences and Letters in Helsinki, Finland and at the Estonian Maritime Museum in Tallinn, Estonia, on 11th–13th June 2026.

Rectors of Estonia’s Universities of Applied Sciences Met with the Toronto Estonian Community

In early October, a sizeable delegation of leaders from Estonia’s universities of applied sciences visited Canada. In addition to professional meetings with Canadian colleagues, they met with members of the Toronto Estonian community on October 8th at VEMU Estonian Museum Canada. All interested participants were welcome—both those considering studying in Estonia and community members wishing to stay informed about developments back home.
