Увидела свет книга российского этнографа Ирины Трушковой об эстонцах и латышах Вологодско-Вятского региона

«Вологодско-вятские прибалтийцы: этнокультурные очерки» (Киров, 340 с.)
Монография Ирины Трушковой содержит интереснейшие данные о переселении эстонцев и латышей в столыпинские времена в Вологодско-Вятский регион, их обустройстве на чужбине и дальнейшей жизни. Автор неоднократно проводила полевые исследования в компактных местах проживания прибалтийцев в Опаринском районе Кировской области, согласно современному административному делению. В монографии анализируются уникальные экспедиционные данные и архивные источники Эстонской Республики и Российской Федерации.
Монография состоит из трех глав, первая из которых посвящена этнокультурному и экономическому положению в Прибалтике, вызвавшему аграрную миграцию крестьян. Автор подчеркивает, что на судьбу крестьян Прибалтики в значительной мере повлияли аграрные реформы Столыпина в начале ХХ века, в ходе которых часть населения Российской империи была переселена на восточные территории, в частности, в Вологодско-Вятский регион. Носители этнической культуры увозили с собой скот, мебель, инструменты, книги и др. Ими возделывались пустынные до тех пор просторы, создавалась система хуторов. К 1920-ым годам хозяйства Опаринского района в окрестностях железной дороги Пермь–Котлас превратились в крупные экономические единицы.
Во второй главе монографии подробно рассматривается традиционная культура переселенцев и их потомков. В третьей главе внимание фокусируется на изменениях в культуре, происходивших под влиянием социалистических реорганизаций (коллективизации, репрессий), времени и поликультурной среды. Компактного расселения эстонцев и латышей в этом регионе больше нет, однако влияние их культур ощутимо и сегодня.
