Anne ValmasAnne Valmas (b.1941), a librarian, bibliographer and book historian, has worked in the Tallinn University of Technology Library, the Estonian National Library and since 1989 in the Tallinn University Academic Library as Head of the Estonian Diaspora Literature Department, Director, and a researcher. Since 2008 she has been Head of the Estonian Diaspora Literature Centre of the same library. In 2003 she defended her doctoral thesis ”Estonians’ Publishing Activities Abroad 1944-2000” that also includes a bibliography of books issued by expatriate Estonian publishers and organizations. She has published about one hundred articles on expatriate Estonian culture and publishing and given numerous papers on the topic at home and abroad. Author of collections of articles: Kodutanumast kaugemal (Beyond Home Lanes, 1994) and Raamatumõtted (Thoughts on Books, 2006). Chief editor of the biographical database of Estonian librarians. Member of Board: Pedagogical Archive Museum of Estonia, Harju County Library. Member: Estonian Archives Abroad working group, Compatriot Program’s Archival Committee, Audit Panel of the Baltic Heritage Network.
