Anu KorbAnu Korb (b. 1950) graduated from the Department of Estonian Philology at the University of Tartu in 1974, after which she worked as a researcher in the Folklore Archives of the Estonian Literary Museum. In 1991-1998 she worked as Head of the Folklore Archives, since the autumn of 2007 as a senior researcher. In 2007 she defended her doctoral thesis ”Siberian Estonian Communities as Sources for Folkloristic Research” and received her Ph.D. in Estonian and comparative folklore. Her main research areas include the methods of folkloristic field work and the oral heritage of Russian (mainly Siberian) Estonians. Since 1991 she has systematically collected and studied the oral heritage of Estonians living in different regions of Russia, in the recent years also the heritage and life stories of Estonians who have returned from Russia.
